12 Volunteers Clean Up Historic Holmes Run in Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA, VA-On Saturday, Dec. 2, 12 volunteers came out to help clean up Historic Holmes Run. The event was hosted by the Alexandria Department of Transportation and Environmental Services Stormwater Management Division. The group worked in the area behind Charles Beatley Library.

In all, 13 bags were collected, containing mostly glass and plastic bottles.

The event was held to recognize the first National Stormwater Day on Nov. 16. The day, established by the National Municipal Stormwater Alliance, is a chance to highlight the importance of stormwater management practices and programs.

Similar events are planned for 2024. Details will be announced by the city when information is released.
