ALEXANDRIA, VA-It is time to nominate an outstanding Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) crossing guard who makes a difference in the ACPS community! The Virginia Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Program is accepting nominations for Virginia’s Most Outstanding Crossing Guard Award through Jan. 19, 2024. Be sure to include a photo and story, detailing how your crossing guard excels.
Crossing guards are more important than ever as many students walk, bike or use other alternative transportation methods to get to school. Join ACPS and SRTS in celebrating your crossing guard on Feb. 7, 2024, on Crossing Guard Appreciation Day.
