Here’s How Zweet Sport Members Are Working Out and Giving Back to Alexandria
ALEXANDRIA, VA – Zweet Sport, a fitness studio in Alexandria that offers group fitness, cycle, and personal training, believes in a strong sense of community and is “all in” to contributing and supporting its neighbors.
Not only does does the gym challenge its members physically, but a central idea behind their overall commitment to wellness is to focus on community. They take their motto to heart: Be Bold. Be Strong. Be All In.
Now through the end of March 2024, Zweet Sport’s members are collecting items such has hand warmers, hand sanitizer, water, snacks and encouraging notes and compiling them into care kits for the homeless. As members leave the studio during these winter months, they are encouraged to take several care kits to keep in the car and hand out to those in need.
“Members of Zweet Sport can proudly go home knowing their strength and power goes beyond the walls of the studio,” says Angela Buckley, Zweet Sport Instructor.
This past December Zweet Sport partnered with UMFS, a local Virginia foster care foundation to surprise the youth of the Leland House with gifts Christmas morning.
Studio members purchased basic needs, including bedding, as well as art supplies and games and much more for teens aged 12 to 17 who are receiving temporary treatment at this facility. Leland House offers empowering care through therapy, education, and social skill development for the adolescents in their care who suffer from severe behavioral or emotional challenges.
