Peer Music Program Holds Winter Showcase Featuring Alexandria Schools Students

ALEXANDRIA, VA-The Music Buddies program is a peer to peer music program based in the DC metro area. It is sponsored by the American Youth Philharmonic Orchestra with the goal of providing young musicians the opportunity to learn and grow

Music Buddies recently held its Winter Showcase featuring 19 orchestra students from Francis C. Hammond Middle School, George Washington Middle School, and Charles Barrett Elementary School.

Leading up to the performance, each participant took lessons from a member of AYPO each week. During the lessons, they not only learned their parts for the ensemble but also worked on soloing.
