Reserve Picnic Areas in Alexandria Beginning March 4

ALEXANDRIA, VA-Feel like a picnic? Alexandria’s parks offer the perfect setting. They also play host to a large number of events and group gatherings. The usual date of March 1 to make space reservations has been moved to March 4 this year.

The city’s Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities said in a Feb. 26 press release that the change was made to aid staff in assisting patrons who want to secure certain dates and times. Reservations must be made in person at Lee Center (1108 Jefferson St.)

RPCA’s picnic season runs from April to October. Parks available to rent include:

Armistead L. Boothe Park, 520 Cameron Station Blvd.
Ben Brenman Park, 4800 Brenman Park Dr.
Chinquapin Park, 3210 King St.
Fort Ward Park, 4301 West Braddock Rd.
Lee Center, 1108 Jefferson St.
Old Town Pool, 1605 Cameron St.
