Alexandria Appoints New Deputy City Manager

ALEXANDRIA, VA-Alethea Predeoux is the new deputy city manager. In this position, she will focus on community health and human services. In addition, she will support the people who work for the City of Alexandria. A longtime resident of the city, she assumes her new role on March 18.

“I’m thrilled that we were able to find such a qualified candidate to fill the Deputy City Manager position,” said City Manager James Parajon. “Ms. Predeoux’s experience and success in personnel and healthcare will prove invaluable to the Alexandria community and the well-being of City employees.”

She was previously employed by the federal government in the Office of Personnel Management, serving as the department’s chief of staff. Prior to that position, where she ensured that the agency operated successfully on a daily basis, Predeoux worked in healthcare policy and labor. In that field, She assisted organizations like the Paralyzed Veterans of America and the AFL-CIO.

She is a graduate of Spelman College and earned her master’s degree from George Mason University’s Schar School of Policy and Government.

Kevin is Publisher's Assistant with The Zebra Press. He has been working for Alexandria's "Good News" newspaper since 2019. A graduate of George Mason University, he earned a bachelor's in English with a concentration in Creative Writing. He also studied at the Columbia School of Broadcasting and holds a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marymount University. He is an alumnus of T.C. Williams High School.
