Alexandria Police Department Arrests Fugitive Wanted for Out-of-State Homicide

Alexandria, Va. – The Alexandria Police Department (APD) apprehended a homicide suspect after an overnight search. On March 19, at approximately 10:57 p.m. APD  officers received a “be-on-the-lookout” (BOLO) notice for a male suspect wanted on charges related to a homicide in Huntersville, North Carolina.

At 11:39 p.m. APD officers spotted the suspect’s vehicle. Police pursued the vehicle as it drove to a dead end in the 100 block of Madison Street where the suspect fled the vehicle and ran from the scene. Officers pursued the suspect on foot and apprehended him without incident on Madison Place. The suspect, later identified as 53-year-old Rahman Ferguson, was taken into custody. The suspect is being held at the Alexandria Adult Detention Center and is awaiting extradition.
