PET OBITUARY: Ginger Snap, August 2014 – March 2024
ALEXANDRIA, VA – Ginger Snap started life with five siblings in West Virginia. She and her siblings (all named after Thanksgiving pies which I was changing immediately) made their way to the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria.
From the first moment I met her, it was love at first sight. She came home with me and became my family. She was terrible at dog parks and barked loudly at every postman, Amazon delivery person and UPS delivery person. She would protest when I was at work too long. She was demanding for her evening scratches and was a terrible food mooch. But Ginger was funny and sassy. She was the best snuggler in the world. She would snuggle into a ball to keep me warm and safe. She made me take care of myself because she needed care. She was my home and I hope that I was her home.
My home is so quiet without her. I miss her furry face and her snuggles. I hope she is eating peanut butter treats and chasing squirrels over the rainbow bridge.
I love you, Ginger Snap.
