Alexandria Choral Society’s Chamber Ensemble Perfoming April 20 at Westminster Presbyterian Church
ALEXANDRIA, VA-Come and experience the music of Pro Coro Alexandria as they sing about nostalgic
trips to the seaside in To the Sea! Did your spring break end too soon? Are you dreaming of your next trip
to the beach? Perhaps you’re longing to relax by the tranquil waters. If so, this concert is for you!
Join Alexandria Choral Society’s chamber ensemble Pro Coro Alexandria as we explore music written
about water and the sea. We’ll start with music from the earliest Gregorian chants and chorales and
move onto Debussy’s impressionist soundscape, “Les Berceaux.” Our water filled exploration will
continue with music by Alexandria native B.E. Boykin, sea shanties, and popular favorites like
Shenandoah, Let the River Run, and The Wellerman. And watch out for the Drunken Sailor!
ACS is excited to partner with Del Ray Artisans for To the Sea! There will be artists live sketching among
audience members during the show, as they use our music to inspire their art! Their artwork will be
available for purchase immediately following the performance.

close in May with a concert filled with music of love, healing, and growth entitled Just As I Am, featuring
the winners of our annual Sing Off Grant, the Alexandria City High School Advanced Choir and their
