Experience the resonance of our shared human journey through moving selections like “Even When He is
Silent” by Kim André Arnesen, based on a poem of hope found at the end of World War II. Susan
LaBarr’s “Where the Light Begins,” is a beautifully simple piece that asks us to consider the origin of light
and how we are each connected to the eternal flame. “Hark, I Hear the Harps Eternal” is a rousing song
composed by and honoring Alice Parker, an icon in the choral music world. We’ll also have a special
tribute for our mothers this Mother’s Day weekend.
Concert patrons will also hear the remarkable young talent of the Alexandria City High School Advanced
Choir, winners of our annual Sing Off Grant, under the guidance of Theodore Thorpe III. Prepare for an
evening brimming with soul-stirring melodies and heartfelt emotion as we close out our 54th season!
