“We are thrilled,” said Anne Tuccillo, executive director of Pawfectly Delicious (PDDT), the local nonprofit dog treat maker that provides meaningful paid work and job training to adults with disabilities. “At Paws & Pours, we celebrated opportunity, community, and the unwavering belief that every individual, regardless of ability, deserves a chance to thrive. And our community responded!”

Guests browsed the silent auction items and carefully chose their favorites for bidding.

On a sunny, breezy Sunday afternoon, the hard-working PDDT staff, board members, and friends and volunteers set up a beautiful event in the main pavilion at Fort Hunt Park. Listening to great music from Del Ray’s The Hip Replacements, guests enjoyed wine from the Wine Institute, beer from Port City, and a stunning and sumptuous spread by Crudités All Day.

Guest doggies were happy to have their photos taken.

The dogs had their share of the fun too, with pet portraits by Alexandra Schmeling, a fitness course with Wholistic Hound Academy, and photos with props by Lasting Impressions.

Steve Rudin, weatherman at WJLA-TV, and fan and friend of PDDT, served as the event’s ambassador. Rudin shared a personal story of his old dog Gus, who loved the PDDT treats in his final days. That’s when Rudin gained a true appreciation for the products and purpose of Pawfectly Delicious.

Guests mingled and browsed all of the fabulous items up for bid in the event’s silent auction. The items ranged from trips to Costa Rica and golf at St. Andrews to gift cards in varying amounts for local merchants. All of which helped bring in the generous donations for PDDT.

Tuccillo introduced the dedicated staff of Pawfectly Delicious Dog Treats to a hearty round of applause.

As Tuccillo explained in her opening remarks, “We have come a long way since our inception five years ago. We’ve worked tirelessly to create employment opportunities for disabled adults, and our journey has been nothing short of remarkable. Today’s event is a giant milestone—a chance to raise significant resources and fuel our mission.”

The event was a smashing success by every measure, and Tuccillo was beyond grateful. She told the crowd, “Thank you for being part of our journey. Together, we’ll continue to make tails wag and hearts smile.”
