Top It Off Celebrates Grand Opening at Belle View Shopping Center
New location is just the right fit for this local fashion outlet
Alexandria, VA – Top It Off, the local fashion outlet with locations in Del Ray and Rehoboth Beach, has moved from its Hollin Hall store to the Belle View Shopping Center.
“This new spot is so much better for us,” said Karena Rasser, co-owner of Top It Off. “We have so much more space for our backroom inventory management. And our smaller shopping space will allow us to cycle new products to the floor much more often.”
The official Grand Opening and ribbon cutting took place at the new Belle View store on Wednesday, June 12. In attendance were Holly Dougherty and Eric Christensen of the Mount Vernon Springfield Chamber of Commerce and Nick Rinehart from Supervisor Dan Storck’s office. They were joined by representatives and merchants from the Belle View Shopping Center as well as Rasser’s family and friends. Marissa Eyon, owner of Fast Signs in Springfield, presented Rasser with her official Chamber of Commerce wall plaque.
Top It Off specializes in women’s apparel and accessories, offering “the look for less.” Everything in the store is $25 or less, and that includes dresses, tops and bottoms, sweaters, wraps, scarves, and bags. There are fun accessories and jewelry of all kinds, from seasonal and sports themes to colorful bangles and baubles and more. In addition to women’s fashions, the store also sells fun accessories for entertaining and decorating, as well as cute goodies for your favorite pet.
Rasser co-founded Top It Off 22 years ago in Boston. Originally operating as a wholesaler, Top It Off sold its goods in boutiques and shops in Boston, Atlanta, and New York, as well as trunk shows, pop-ups, and trade shows. Eventually they opened a store and office in Boston, and added two more locations in Northern Virginia and also Rehoboth Beach, DE.
Even with its brick and mortar outlet locations, Top It Off stays nimble through its traveling trade shows and pop-ups. Cycling through two seasons annually, spring/summer and fall/winter, the inventory is constantly evolving. If you stop in the store every week, you’re bound to see something new.
In addition to Top It Off branded merchandise, the store also sells other brands, such as Scout bags. Walking into the store is a leap into technicolor, with cheerful, colorful, sparkly goods enticing your eye at every glance. Unique, fun gifts and apparel for any occasion fill the store to the brim.
“We like to sell the things that make people happy,” said Rasser. And from the looks of the shoppers in store for the Grand Opening, mission accomplished.
