Famous ‘Shark Tank’ Lobster Roll Food Truck in Alexandria, Tuesday, July 16
"We love the guys from Cousins Maine Lobster," says Ray Greenstreet, who is hosting the truck at his garden center.
ALEXANDRIA, VA – What is better than cold lobster rolls on a hot summer day? You can have them tomorrow when a Cousins Maine Lobster truck will be selling lobster rolls and other delicious items all day at Greenstreet Gardens, 1721 W. Braddock Road in Alexandria, Virginia on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m.
Most people were introduced to Cousins Maine Lobster when Barbara Corcoran on Shark Tank invested. Cousins Sabin Lomac and Jim Tselikis came up with the business that started with a single food truck in Los Angeles.
The duo appeared on the entrepreneurial pitch show in season four looking for support and struck a deal with Corcoran, who paid $55,000 for a 15% stake; now they have over $53 MILLION in annual revenue and CML is the leading seafood food truck brand in the industry.
“We love these guys from Cousins Maine Lobster,” says Ray Greenstreet, who is hosting the truck at his garden center in Alexandria. “We had them come to our Maryland location about a month ago and people keep asking when we are having them back again.”
What can you expect? The menu is simple, and everything is made to order. There are two types of lobster rolls–the Connecticut, served warm with melted butter and lemon, and the traditional cold roll with a touch of mayo. Both come in the New England split-top rolls.
They also have all things lobster–tacos, tots, grilled cheese, bisque, quesadilla, and tails. In additional you can find New England Clam Chowder and amazing Whoopie Pies.
“I couldn’t believe the chocolate whoopie pie,” said Nancy Parlett, who made two trips to the truck the last time they were at Greenstreet Gardens in Maryland. “I’ve been eating Whoopie pies for almost 90 years, and it was the best one I ever had! Who’d think I’d get that at a lobster roll food truck?”
Turns out that Maine is as famous for its Whoopie Pies as it is for its delicious lobsters. The confection is Maine’s official state treat. The popular treat that consists of two chocolate cake rounds surrounding a white cream is reported to have been baked in Maine since 1925.
