Speed Cameras Active Near Alexandria School Zones

ALEXANDRIA, VA-With the start of the school year, automated enforcement of speeding violations has resumed.

Speed cameras are near:

Francis C. Hammond Middle School (Seminary Road, between Kenmore Avenue and North Jordan Street).
John Adams Elementary School and Ferdinand T. Day Elementary School (North Beauregard Street, between North Highview Lane and Reading Avenue).
George Washington Middle School (Mount Vernon Avenue, between Braddock Road and Luray Avenue).

Vehicle speed is a major concern of parents whose children walk or bike to school. The City of Alexandria supports the Safe Routes to School program.
