PUBLIC INVITED: Noah Lyles Returning to Alexandria Sept. 22 for Big Celebration

The Lyles Brothers Foundation is sponsoring a coat drive during the celebration.

ALEXANDRIA, VA-Noah Lyles is coming back to Alexandria. The Olympic champion will be welcomed home Sunday, Sept. 22. Everyone is invited to a celebration hosted by the City of Alexandria.

Festivities will be held at Chinquapin Park and Alexandria City High School (3330 King St.). The fun begins at 3 p.m. A rally is planned around Chinquapin Circle featuring live music and more.

Lyles took home gold in the 100-meter sprint in Paris this summer, retaining his title as the world’s fastest man. He won bronze in the 200-meter sprint. Due to a covid-19 diagnosis, he bowed out of the 4×100 relay.

The Lyles Brothers Foundation is sponsoring a coat drive during the celebration. People are asked to bring new or gently used items. Coats will be donated to residents in need.

Attendees are asked to RSVP, but walk-ins will be accepted. Limited Parking will be available at the Alexandria City High School garage, with overflow parking at First Baptist Church of Alexandria. Another option is DASH Bus routes 31 and 36 A/B.
