Adopt a Pet in Alexandria: Meet Sonny
ALEXANDRIA, VA-Sonny is a 2-year-old male dog who weighs only 34 pounds. He’s a sweet, social and cheerful fellow. Of course, he enjoys his walks and does very well on a leash and doesn’t seem to be bothered by bikes, dogs or people. He loves play time in the yard, as well as food puzzles and games to help him burn off some extra energy. Given his young age, he would do best with a family who has some extra time to dedicate to playing with him or taking him on walks. He would also benefit from someone who will continue to work on training. We know from his previous guardian that he’s housetrained. Sonny has done well meeting a variety of other dogs at the shelter, too.
The AWLA is located at 4101 Eisenhower Ave. Founded in 1946, the AWLA has supported and served as a resource for homeless animals. The organization remains an integral part of the community by providing opportunities for adoption, spay and neuter assistance, education, and outreach. To learn more, visit alexandriaanimals.org.
