ALX Community Launches Four-Week Program Supporting Former Federal Workers

ALEXANDRIA, VA-ALX Community has found a way to help former federal employees. It has launched Career Catalyst, a month-long program, aimed at supporting people amid a career change.

According to a press release, “the program combines expert career guidance, peer support, and real-world resources to help attendees transition from job loss to job found.”

Taking place on Thursday evenings from April 24 to May 15, the program will be hosted at ALX Community’s coworking space (277 S. Washington St.).

Speakers will include recruiters, career coaches, hiring managers, and HR leaders. They will offer practical advice on job searching, resumes, interviewing, networking, and salary negotiation. The press release says, “With interactive sessions, actionable takeaways, and access to expert resume reviewers, Career Catalyst offers a safe, human-centered space to regroup, rebuild, and reconnect.”

Sponsors can buy a seat for someone to attend the program. Business and corporate sponsors are welcome and appreciated. With sponsorship, Career Catalyst can be expanded to help more people.  Coaching and educational programming can be offered as well. If interested, fill out the sponsor form HERE.

“This program is our way of wrapping our arms around the public servants who’ve done so much for this region and our country,” said Kelly Grant, COO of ALX Community.
