Adopt a Pet in Alexandria: Meet Cookie
ALEXANDRIA, VA-Like her name suggests, Cookie is a sweet pup! She is a 1-year-old, 37-pound female dog who would love to find a loving, safe home. When Cookie first arrived at AWLA, she was very shy and timid, but is slowly becoming more brave. As she’s become more comfortable there, she’s showing her playful, bubbly, social side. She loves to play with toys (the more the better) and enjoys busy boxes and lick mats. If you get on her level, she may even try to sit in your lap and smother you with kisses. She’s learning to walk nicely on a leash and is responding very well to clicker training and cues like sit and paw. AWLA think Cookie will thrive with a family that can provide her with opportunities to grow her confidence.
AWLA is located at 4101 Eisenhower Ave. Founded in 1946, the AWLA has supported and served as a resource for homeless animals. The organization remains an integral part of the community by providing opportunities for adoption, spay and neuter assistance, education, and outreach. To learn more, visit alexandriaanimals.org.
