ALEXANDRIA, VA-Housing Alexandria is making good news again. This time it is because the nonprofit has donated 250 meals for Thanksgiving to local families in need. This food drive surpassed last year’s by collecting 15 percent more food.

“We appreciate the support from the Henry Condominium Association and are thrilled to offer this annual tradition to our residents,” said Elisa Mondragon, Chief Operating Officer of Housing Alexandria. “This program not only provides a delicious and nutritious meal but also demonstrates our commitment to supporting the well-being of our families during the holidays.”

Each meal feeds a family of four across their affordable housing properties. As a bonus, Housing Alexandria includes a gift card to Harris Teeter to shop for groceries.

Recently, Housing Alexandria celebrated their 20th anniversary. The organization has supported hundreds of units in that time. It is making plans to build 474 rental units and 36 houses.
