Understand Alexandria’s Past or Your Own: A Virtual Conversation With Oral Historians

ALEXANDRIA, VA-On Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2025, the Alexandria Historical Society (AHS) is hosting a virtual event that is free and open to the public. The aim of “Behind the Scenes with the Alexandria Historical Society: Exploring Oral History Resources in Alexandria” is to shine a light on this city’s oral history resources that can aid in understanding the past.
Join via Zoom at 7 p.m. for a coversation with Francesco De Salvatore, Manager of the Alexandria Oral History Center at the Office of Historic Alexandria. Also speaking is Scott Vierick, a former oral historian at History Associates Inc. and current AHS board member.
The evening will offer both guidance and inspiration -whether you’re interested in documenting your family’s stories, gathering community histories, or learning more about Alexandria’s diverse past, The Alexandria Oral History Center can help in your efforts.
