Local Mom and Pop Nursery Has it All this Holiday Season
ALEXANDRIA, VA – Ray and Stacy Greenstreet love Christmas, which is why they are so devoted to bringing handcrafted Christmas wreaths, table centerpieces, poinsettias, and other unique, quality holiday decor to their store. “We sell farm-fresh trees and greenery that are kept watered and glistening so our wreaths and table decorations last much longer than chain stores can provide,” says Ray Greenstreet. “We’ve had plenty of clients tell us their wreaths and other holiday greens are still soft and fresh in January!”
“There’s no denying how special it is to give yourself, or your family and friends, a fresh Christmas wreath that’s handmade and is adorned with gorgeous accents and hand-tied bows,” says Stacy Greenstreet. “We have a huge selection, and love creating handmade wreaths that have beautiful natural elements like pinecones, red berries, magnolia leaves, seed heads, and fresh holly.”
Zebra stopped in and saw the extensive collection of fresh boughs and accents, as well as different varieties of Christmas tree–from the Noble Fir to Fraser, Turkish and Douglas Firs to Scotch and White Pine choices. You don’t find trees like this at the grocery or hardware store. “Our trees really are spectacular, and we will custom fit them to your stand and help attach them to your vehicle. The guys are all here ready to help.”
Greenstreet Gardens also has a great selection of porch pots. These winter standbys are lots of fun to make and are perfect for replacing your front-yard container gardens through the season. They can help you make your own winter porch pot or purchase one already done, using the ‘thriller, filler, spiller’ technique by layering evergreens with different textures, like spruce, pine, and cedar cuttings. Festive decorations like holly berries and ribbon bows are inserted for a few pops of color.
For these and other holiday decorating ideas or gifts, stop in to see the friendly folks at Greenstreet Gardens, 1721 Braddock Road (corner of Quaker and Braddock).
