Volunteer during MLK Day Weekend — Several organizations are hosting events and projects during MLK Day weekend. Consider volunteering and donating your time during the MLK Day of Service.

Saturday, January 18, 9:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Distribute Groceries to Families — Help UNCUT Youth unwrap, pack, and distribute groceries for people in need. UNCUT’s goal is to distribute food for up to 150 families.

Thursday, January 30, 5:30 to 7 p.m., Attend an Open House for Mentoring — Participate in a game night designed to introduce interested volunteers to mentoring organizations at this interactive Open House.

STEM-based Nonprofit Seeks Board Member — Fly Minds is a nonprofit that engages students in STEM projects and activities. Board members serve 1-year terms and ideally have a background in STEM.

Keep Kittens Healthy and Cared For — PetSmart locations are looking for volunteers to sweep and clean cat boxes, play with kittens, and ensure they have fresh water and bowls. Volunteers are encouraged to report any issues to staff.

Help Launch and Promote STEM Efforts for Women — The National Center for Women’s Innovation is seeking a part-time administrative volunteer to help with launching their “Dare To Be It” campaign and traveling Dr. Gladys West exhibit.
