Three Alexandria School Students Earn Awards in Nationwide Art Contest

ALEXANDRIA, VA-Reflections is an annual nationwide PTA-sponsored art contest. This year, three entries from ACPS students were recognized at the state level.

Ingrid Albers, who is in sixth grade at George Washington Middle School, won for Outstanding Interpretation in Photography for a self-portrait.  She was selected to compete at the national level. ACHS student Lola Jeanne Carpio won an Award of Merit in Photography. Sadie Szamosfalvi also received an Award of Merit for Music Competition.

ACPS submitted 350 entries to the contest from 13 schools. The national competition takes place May 1.
