ALEXANDRIA, VA— In a spectacular, one-day effort of giving, 7,237 donors showed up to support ACT for Alexandria’s Spring2Action 2025 raising $2,932,037 million to benefit 193 nonprofit organizations.

The countdown clock on their website had been running down all day and the tally had been rolling upward all day.  At a few minutes after midnight, Brandi Yee, Chief Program Officer, ACT for Alexandria, released the information to the media that the day was a huge success, and the record-breaking total $2.9 million plus soared past its goal of $2.5 million.

“Spring2ACTion is more than just a day of giving—it’s a powerful demonstration of what we can achieve when we come together as a community,” says Heather Peeler, President & CEO of ACT.

“Alexandria is a special place. People choose to live and work in Alexandria because it is a vibrant, diverse, welcoming community. We have high caliber and resourceful nonprofit organizations, and generous and engaged residents, businesses and faith communities,” Peeler explains. ACT strives to bring the community together to create a place where everyone feels a sense of belonging – and where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

“We are so grateful for all of the 7,209 donors, 193 nonprofits, 65 businesses, and 35 sponsors that participated in this year’s incredible event,” says Peeler. “Strong nonprofits are even more important as we navigate the uncertainty and challenges in today’s world. By giving together and working collaboratively, we are stabilizing vital services and continuing to advance the public good. Thank you for standing with us and supporting our local nonprofits and the community we love.”
