Alexandria is losing an innovative Indian restaurant
Alexandria, VA – Kismet Modern Indian announced that it will close its Old Town Alexandria location on Sunday, June 1, with final service on Saturday, May 31. The decision, driven by continued market pressures, comes after more than three years of serving the Alexandria and Northern Virginia community.
Since opening in Fall 2021, Kismet Modern Indian has become known for its innovative take on traditional Indian cuisine, warm hospitality, and deep community ties. Its commitment to Old Town Alexandria and the broader Northern Virginia region and while this chapter is ending, the team is open to opportunities to return to the area in the future.
“This is a bittersweet decision,” said Sachin Mahajan, Owner/Operator of Kismet Modern Indian. “Old Town has been an incredibly welcoming and vibrant community. We are deeply grateful to our guests, neighbors, and partners for their support and connection over the years.”
Alexandrians will still be able to experience the wonders of Kismet’s flavors at Kismet Modern Indian in Richmond, VA, Karma Modern Indian, and the newly opened Karizma in downtown Washington, D.C., where Chef Ajay Kumar and his team continue to celebrate the bold, evolving flavors of Indian cuisine.
