Thursday, May 29, 9 to 10 a.m., Volunteer with Former Federal Workers — Meet up with former federal workers and contractors on a project benefiting the Center for Alexandria’s Children. Registration is required.
Tuesday, June 3, Help Celebrate Tutors in Alexandria — Help the Alexandria Tutoring Consortium throw an end-of-the-year celebration for its 300 tutors who helped children improve their reading. Volunteers would set up and clean.
Thursday, June 5, Noon to 1 p.m., Discover Opportunities with Emergencies — Learn how to engage with emergency and disaster recovery with Volunteer Alexandria. This virtual session will cover training, requirements, and upcoming classes.
Saturday, June 7, Volunteer for the Arts & Crafts Fair — Set-up, serve beverages, manage traffic, or assist vendors at the annual Arts & Crafts Fair at Waterfront Park.
Saturday, June 7, 9 to 10 a.m., Help Clean-Up Founders Park — Pick up trash at Founders Park with the Founders Park Community Association. Supplies are provided. Volunteers may bring their own gloves.
Saturday, June 7, Help Students and Mentors Celebrate their Accomplishments — Wright to Read needs assistance with their end-of-the-year picnic for its students and mentors. Volunteers would help setup, support, or breakdown.
Students Can Serve this Summer — Volunteer Alexandria is hosting service-learning projects for middle and high school students, beginning Tuesday, June 17. Students perform service with a local nonprofit and learn about issues.
Create Marketing/Social Media Content for Famer’s Market — Create content, manage social media, and develop marketing strategies for the 4 Mile Run Farmers and Artisans Market. Help promote their mission to promote healthy foods.
Support Projects for Youth this Summer — Casa Chirilagua is hosting a summer camp with Code Rising, needs volunteers to support fun STEM and filmmaking projects, and help build meaningful connections for students.
