Birria Tacos, Chicken Brunello and a Celebrity Judge Steal the Show at 16th Annual Taste of Del Ray
The Sold-Out Culinary Competition Featured 14 Favorite Del Ray Restaurants

Alexandria, VA – Sunshine, sizzling bites, and a side of star power made the 16th Annual Taste of Del Ray a feast to remember on June 1. Hosted by the Del Ray Business Association, the popular culinary event drew food lovers from across the region to the Mount Vernon Recreation Center Fields, where 14 of Del Ray’s favorite restaurants dished up their best in a friendly—and flavorful—competition.
“Taste of Del Ray is more than just a food festival; it’s a celebration of our community’s spirit and culinary creativity. ” said Pat Miller., one of the event organizers. “Each year I’m amazed by how our local chefs and neighbors come together to make this event truly special.”
Former Meet the Press host Chuck Todd returned to his Del Ray roots as this year’s celebrity judge, lending both gravitas and hometown charm to the event. “This neighborhood has always had a special place in my heart,” said Todd when he accepted the job of deciding the best dishes of the day. “To see how far it’s come — and to be part of an event that celebrates the community and its creativity — is truly an honor.”
Tasting tents ringed the field as long lines of eager attendees sampled everything from birria tacos to falafel. Guests also cast their votes for the coveted People’s Choice awards, while volunteers from the Boys and Girls Club of Alexandria helped keep everyone cool by selling drinks.
