Alx Dog Walk Announces New Partnership for April 2026 Event
ALX Dog Walk teams up with Animal Welfare League of Alexandria for its annual dog walk, to be held on April 18, 2026. Next year’s theme is billed as PETS AND THE PLANET. In a press release, Alx Dog Walk characterized the upcoming spring collaboration as “uniting two powerful causes—plastic-free, sustainable living and animal welfare—for one joyful, community-wide celebration of pets and the planet!”
The two-mile dog walk will begin down historic Union Street in Old Town Alexandria, then loop back along the Potomac River waterfront, ending at Oronoco Bay Park for a vibrant festival filled with celebration, education, and fun.
“The 2026 ALX Dog Walk event promises to be the biggest and barkiest yet,” Alx Dog Walk proclaimed in the news release. The popular event is expected to draw over 2,000 people and their furry friends to the waterfront celebration.
Proceeds from the 2026 ALX Dog Walk will support both ALX Dog Walk’s year-round environmental education and AWLA’s work for Alexandria’s animals.
NBC4 Washington Meteorologist Chuck Bell will return as event emcee.
