ALEXANDRIA, VA-Zachary Roberts, a rising senior at Alexandria City High School, has earned a $5,000 scholarship from the Aerospace Corporation, based in Chantilly. The Future STEM Leaders Scholarship will support Roberts in his education at a four-year college or university.

“This scholarship is awarded to first-generation college students in participating Aerospace locations who showcase academic excellence, community participation, and pursuit of an undergraduate STEM degree,” reads the release.

The Aerospace Corporation is a national nonprofit with four locations throughout the United States. The research center, funded by the federal government, employs more than 4,600 people. Founded in 1960, it works to solve complex problems related to the Space Force.
