Alexandria, VA – The city’s Office of Housing announced that a Resale Restricted Homeownership unit is open to prospective buyers.

The 1,048 square-foot condominium is a two bedroom dwelling with two full baths.

It is located at 60 South Van Dorn Street, Unit 512.

The unit, built in 2006, is located on the top floor of the building. Amenities are available, including washer-dryer combo, gas range, microwave, walk-in closets, and more.

To be eligible, prospective buyers must live or work within the city’s corporate limits and have a gross annual income below 100 percent of the area median income. This figure calculates to $85,000 for a one-person household, $97,100 for a two-person household, $109,000 for a three-person household, and $121,300 for a four-person household.

Those eligible may receive a city shared equity loan of up to $50,000 through the city’s Flexible Homeownership Assistance Program.

The unit is eligible for reduced mortgage interest rate financing through the Virginia Housing Development Authority’s Community Homeownership Revitalization Program. To qualify for this program and city financing, the interested party is required to complete a VHDA-sponsored homebuyer training class, then a two-hour individual counseling session.
