Visonaries of Tomorrow: 984 Graduate From Alexandria City High School

ALEXANDRIA, VA-On the morning of May 31, 984 graduates of Alexandria City High School walked across the stage at Eagle Bank Arena in Fairfax to receive their diplomas.  According to information provided by ACPS, as of May 20, graduates are enrolled in 134 colleges and universities.

“The class of 2025 has undoubtedly left an unforgettable impression on ACHS,” said ACHS Executive Principal Alexander Duncan III. “They have been innovative, creative, and inspiring. Their ability to advocate for themselves and speak truth to power is a trait that will serve them well as they move forward into what’s next.”

The commencement ceremony included remarks from Superintendent Dr. Melanie Kay-Wyatt, Class of 2025 President Scott Price and Vice President Djibril Wone, Student Government Association (SGA) President James Libresco, and senior student speakers Sana Kawoon and Katie Bwenal Barrera.

“As our graduates step forward today, they carry with them more than a diploma—they carry hope, said Wyatt. “It is not just optimism, it is a call to action: to harness their potential, overcome obstacles, pursue purpose, and Elevate others.”

The Class of 2025 is known as the Visionaries of Tomorrow. Patents, School Board members, members of City Council, and more were there to congratulate all.

The graduates have received $200,00 in scholarships. Twenty have signed letters of intent to play sports for their new schools. At press time, 30 have committed to serve in the U.S. Armed Forces.
