Allison Silberberg Wins Democratic Primary for Mayor
Unseating incumbent Mayor Bill Euille, first-term City Councilwoman Allison Silberberg is currently running unopposed in the race for mayor with no Republican challenger in site.
In an email, Allison thanked her supporters and referred to Alexandria’s future, stating, “As many of you know, on Tuesday night, I was elected by the citizens of our great city as the Democratic nominee for Mayor of Alexandria! I am deeply honored and thrilled.
I thank our citizens for their belief in me and our shared vision for our beloved city’s future. I am humbled by the support from all across our city. This was an all-volunteer, grassroots campaign, and I am deeply grateful to the volunteers and friends who have supported me and made this win possible.
I want to thank Mayor Bill Euille and former Mayor Kerry Donley for running good campaigns. As I have stated from the beginning of my campaign, I honor their service to our city.
I believe that all of the citizens of Alexandria have benefited from a wide discussion of the issues, and I look forward to working with everyone as we march toward November’s General Election as a unified party and a unified city.”
