ACPS Launches New Mobile App for Families
Alexandria City Public Schools has launched a new mobile app to help families stay connected to their schools and easily find information such as menus, calendar events, news and other resources to help their children succeed in school.
In addition, the mobile app features a tip line that users can place tips on a variety of issues including bullying, fighting, threats or vandalism. The tip line can also be used for giving compliments. Users can select submissions to be anonymous if they wish.
T.C. Williams High School sports enthusiasts can get the latest sports news, scores and schedules on all the sports that T.C. offers, including football, wrestling, soccer and baseball for both boys and girls teams.
Families can easily access their child’s meal accounts from the app to add money for breakfast and lunch purchases. Menus are featured for every school so that parents and students can plan ahead.
Through the new app, students and families can access Blackboard Learn and PowerSchool, two resources that provide valuable information about the student’s learning experience such as grades, attendance, test results and student assignments and projects.
The app can be downloaded through the Apple App store for iPhones and iPads, and through the Google Play store for Android, by searching for “Alexandria City Public Schools.” Those who do not have a smartphone can access the mobile app’s web version.
