ALEXANDRIA ZEBRA TO LAUNCH SISTER PUBLICATION IN McLEAN/GREAT FALLS
The All Good News Monthly Paper Expands
The Zebra, a community touchstone in Alexandria announced today its plans to expand into the McLean/Great Falls suburb. Printing and doorstep-delivering more copies than any other local publication, The Zebra has proven the innovative model a success over the last seven years. Readers want good news.
Publisher Mary Wadland, who started her career at The Alexandria Gazette Packet and Connection newspapers in 1988 has devoted the last 28 years to print media in the metropolitan area, and in 2010 started her own product. Branded as “Black and white and READ all over”, The Zebra is a community newspaper of a different stripe. Wadland stated, “Businesses needed a new model in which to advertise and readers wanted something they could not find anywhere else – there’s enough bad news to go around – but how energizing and enriching it is to share good news about your kids, your neighborhoods and the local hot spots.”
Committed to sharing only good news, The Zebra is the place to find who won the spelling bee or the local pie baking contest, or read an in-depth profile about your favorite artist, jeweler, Realtor, restaurant or local show at the community theater.
The Zebra Press, LLC also announced that McLean Local Resident Expert Frederica “Freddy” Barney will be the Associate Publisher and responsible for the new sister publication. Former PTA Fun Fair Chair, PTA member of Churchill Road Elementary and Founder of WelcometoMcLean.Com, Freddy is well entrenched in the community and is thrilled that more ‘good news’ is coming to McLean and Great Falls. For advertising and sponsorship opportunities, Freddy can be reached at 703-629-9211 or [email protected].
