Maria Ciarrocchi is New Chief Operating Officer at Alexandria Chamber
Maria Ciarrocchi started out 2018 as the new Chief Operating Officer for the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce. She will take on a greater role in all aspects of the Chamber’s operations and strategy while continuine to lead the Chamber’s advocacy efforts from the staff level.
“Maria has consistently taken on new responsibilities in her effort to grow the Chamber. She has excellent relationships with our members and is a leader on Public Policy. In her expanded duties, she will continue advocating on behalf of business. She will also spend more time with city and regional partners working to address the larger concerns facing Alexandria businesses.” said Joe Haggerty, President and CEO.
Ms. Ciarrocchi joined the Chamber in 2013 as Government and Promotions Director and rose to the title of Vice President of Public Policy and Programs in 2015. Prior to joining the Chamber, Ms. Ciarrocchi spent a decade in professional politics at the local, state and national level.
Ms. Ciarrocchi has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and History from Randolph-Macon College (Ashland, VA). She is a 15-year resident of the City of Alexandria. In her spare time, Ms. Ciarrocchi is an accomplished singer/actress and can sometimes be seen singing the National Anthem at a variety of sporting, civic and charity events as well as onstage at critically acclaimed community theatres across the region.
