Alexandria’s Giving Day – April 25 – In 2 Days!

Last year, more than 9,000 individuals gave during Spring2ACTion, raising an amazing $1,592,459 for 158 nonprofit organizations at www.Spring2ACTion.org.  Participating nonprofits represent a wide variety of causes, including health and wellness, animal rescue, food and shelter, arts and music, schools and PTAs, and children and families.  From providing scholarships to summer camp to building baseball fields to pro-bono legal services to serving meals to low-income families, the money raised during Spring2ACTion will continue to have a tremendous impact on the community in the coming year. One day can make a world of difference.  That day is Wednesday, April 25 for Spring2ACTion, Alexandria’s Giving Day.. Spring2ACTion is a 24-hour online giving day that helps donors make a difference for the charitable causes they care about most.  This event is hosted by ACT for Alexandria, the community foundation and its generous sponsors.  It will raise more than $1 million  dollars to benefit the Alexandria community.

In support of Spring2ACTion, there will be many businesses helping to raise money for Alexandria’s nonprofits.  Here are some of the activities taking place in Alexandria on April 25:

During the month of April, Yates Automotive will donate 2 cents for every gallon purchased to Spring2ACTion.  Nickels for Nonprofits at Whole Foods will benefit ACT for Alexandria during April, May and June.  And, all three Comfort One Shoes Alexandria locations will donate 5% of customer’s sales to six nonprofits of the customer’s choosing.
