The Vola Lawson Breast Cancer Memorial Fund continues the mission begun by its namesake in 1994 with The Walk to Fight Breast Cancer. The Fund provides free mammograms and other diagnostic screenings for low-income women. The Fund was started in 2014 to memorialize the former Alexandria City Manager, who died in 2013.
