Alexandria, VA – The Yacht Haven Garden Club is presenting its 37th annual Fashion Show and Luncheon on Thursday, October 28, at the Mount Vernon Country Club in Alexandria. Fashions will be provided by Bloomingdale’s Tysons Corner, modeled in fabulous style by members of the Garden Club. This year’s show is called Bewitched, Bothered, and Bedazzled, inspired by the attendant fashion ensembles and the festive Halloween season, and maybe also by Ella Fitzgerald’s dulcet tones on the classic song from the 1950s.

Guests take their time pursuing Silent Auction items.

In addition to the fashion show and luncheon, the event features a silent auction, which has become the organization’s primary fundraiser. After the necessary cancellation in 2020 due to the pandemic, organizers are anticipating a fabulous day. “The Yacht Haven Garden Club has been doing this fashion show for many years,” said Fashion Show Chairman Nancy Hawkins. “It takes teamwork to organize and create an enjoyable and entertaining experience for our friends in the community. We promise to bewitch and bedazzle you!”

Founded in 1963, the Yacht Haven Garden Club (YHGC) works to further education in horticulture, floral design, and conservation among its members and surrounding communities. To achieve these goals, funds raised are divided among the following organizations and projects: the National Capital Area Garden Clubs serving the greater Washington D.C. area and Friendship Garden and Fern Valley at the National Arboretum.
