Bringing Historic Holiday Cheer to Alexandria  –  One Night Only!

Tickets on Sale Now for Historic Alexandria Candlelight Tour

The Historic Alexandria Candlelight Tour, Alexandria’s premier historic holiday event, blends history, seasonal decorations, light refreshments, period music, and tours highlighting festive traditions through time.

This special event is one night only, Saturday, December 8, 4 – 9 p.m.  This year’s tour includes Carlyle House Historic Park (121 North Fairfax Street), Gadsby’s Tavern Museum (134 North Royal Street), Lee-Fendall House (614 Oronoco Street), and, guest site Alexandria Black History Museum (902 Wythe Street).  In addition to the historic buildings decorated and open for the festivities, the guest site features ‘Our Alexandria,’ The Sharon J. Frazier and Linwood M. Smith Dollhouse Collection.  These beautiful miniatures tell the story of African American life in Alexandria and Virginia.

 

Ticket prices are $25 for adults, $20 for active military members and seniors (ages 65 and older), and $5 for children (ages 6-17).  Tickets for this event can be purchased online at alexandriava.gov/Shop. Additional adult beverages will be available for purchase at select sites.

The sites may be visited in any order and stationed guides are present to provide information and answer questions. A free shuttle is provided running in a continuous loop between the sites.

Old Town Alexandria is served by convenient public transportation, including the free King Street Trolley.
