New All-Time Leading Scorer, Rebounder at Bishop Ireton

Alexandria, VA – Akunna Konkwo ‘19 recently became the all-time leading scorer and rebounder in the history of the girl’s basketball program at Bishop Ireton High School. During her time as a Cardinal, she amassed over 2,000 points and more than 1,500 rebounds.

“I’m thankful to my parents, coaches, and teammates for helping me achieve this milestone,” she said. “I’m very excited to be playing basketball at Boston College this fall.”

“It’s special to have such a dominant player leading our girl’s basketball program,” said Athletic Director  Bryce Bevill. “She has sustained excellence during her four years here through her hard work, commitment, and dedication.”

The Cardinals face-off against Bishop O’Connell in the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC) playoffs this Saturday, February 23 at 12:00 p.m. at DeMatha Catholic High School.
