PLTI Hosting Race Equity Forum in Alexandria May 4
Alexandria, VA – Equality is an essential American ingredient, and on May 4, the Parent Leadership Training Institute of Alexandria Alumni Association will be hosting a Race Equity Forum at the Patrick Henry Recreation Center.
“We want to build stronger connections and give the people of Alexandria an opportunity to get to know and understand each other on a deeper level,” said PLTi Alumni President Sharon Crenshaw. “Our discussions will allow us to recognize our shared experiences and understand those that are different.”
The forum was inspired by the work of the Secret Seven – an anonymous document sent to the Alexandria City Council by seven concerned city residents in 1968.
There are more than 180 PLTI community leaders who completed a 20-week intensive community and civic engagement program spanning a decade. The organization is partnering with the National Parent Leadership Institute, ACT for Alexandria and the city.
Registration is required for this FREE event. Lunch will be provided.
