Alexandria, VA – Alexandria could soon be home to a 22,150-square foot trampoline amusement park! The city’s planning commission on Tuesday night will review the application to operate the “Get Air” facility, which would include wall-to-wall trampolines, dodgeball courts, basketball sunk lanes and obstacle courses. Their recommendation would then go to the final arbiter – the Alexandria City Council.

The space at 340 South Pickett St. was home to a former post office and has been vacant for several years. If approved, it would join more than 80 Get Air parks around the world.

“Staff supports the applicant’s request as it fills a large unused tenant space at 340 South Pickett St. in the West End Shopping Village with an amusement enterprise, accommodating a growing market demand for indoor recreational experiences,” notes the city staff report. “The party area would be able to accommodate 24 people on the main floor and up to 72 people on the second level mezzanine.”

If approved by city council, the McLean-owned Get Air would be allowed to operate every day from 8 a.m. until 12 a.m. The company estimates it can serve up to 100 patrons during the week and more than 800 over weekends.
