Want to Intern in Alexandria’s Sister City of Caen, France?

The application deadline is April 13!

There’s less than a week left to apply for a summer internship in Caen, France! The deadline to live in Alexandria’s sister city across the Atlantic is April 13. The 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy make this summer’s internship especially unique.

Every summer, Alexandria and Caen trade student interns to work at the respective city halls of each city. Caen, which is a city in Normandy, is about two hours away from Paris.

The chosen candidate will live in Caen from May 20 to July 21, be given a monthly stipend of 1,200 Euros and free housing in exchange for memorizing historical information about the Caen City Hall and providing tours to English-speaking tourists.

Applicants must be 18-21 years of age, live in Alexandria, be fluent in French and have completed a year of college. The intern must also have the ability to cover travel expenses to Caen, have good references, excellent social and communication skills and be willing to work with the Caen-Alexandria Sister Cities Committee.
