Father in Need of Kidney Turns to His Alexandria Employer Harry Braswell and Community for Help

ALEXANDRIA, VA – Eduardo Barahona has been on the list for a kidney at Fairfax Hospital for more than a year.  The wait list, however, is five to 10 years long, and Barahona may not have that much time. The 38-year old has been an employee of local home renovation firm Harry Braswell, Inc. for 15 years, and he’s on the group health insurance plan. He asked President Harry Braswell if there was anything Braswell could do to get the word out. Barahona has a 10-year old daughter.

“We are appealing to local news channels and leveraging social media in hopes someone out there will volunteer to save his life,” said Braswell. Internal company emails received a positive response, but to date, no one has been identified as a match. Braswell was among those who got tested.

“Eduardo is a very quiet, very hardworking person who never misses time and is willing to take on any task. He started out with us doing labor work and is now the supervisor of our excavation and trenching crew,” said Harry Braswell.  “He runs all of our equipment, including backhoes and loaders, and drives our trucks.”

If you or someone you know is interested in finding out if you could be a donor, please contact Kirsten Curtis at Inova Fairfax Hospital at 703-776-8053.
