Volunteers Needed in Alexandria to Help Unload 40,000 Pounds of Food to Stock Five Food Pantries

ALEXANDRIA, VA – Volunteers are needed on March 11, when The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is expecting a semi-truck load of food from Salt Lake City.  In partnership with Trinity United Methodist Church, volunteers will unload, organize, and deliver the food to food pantries in Alexandria, including Casa Chirilagua, Grace Episcopal, Our Lady Queen of Peace, Rising Hope Mission Church, and Christ Church.

“This is going to be a big project.  The truck will bring 40,000 pounds of food. Although it is a weekday, we are hoping you can take a few hours off to help,” say the organizers.

All volunteers will wear masks and remain conscious about social distancing.  The work will be outside, so please dress appropriately.

“Getting this food is a huge opportunity and we are excited to provide love and security to families in our neighborhood.  Thank you for your help!”
