Stephanie Landrum Named 2019 Alexandria Business Leader of the Year

“While we're a little biased, this truly couldn't go to someone who is more deserving,” AEDP staff wrote.

Alexandria, VA – Stephanie Landrum, the president and CEO of the Alexandria Economic Development Partnership, has been awarded the 2019 Business Leader of the Year by the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce.

A great choice by The Alexandria Chamber of Commerce of Alexandria’s Business Leader of the Year!” Alexandria Mayor Justin Wilson wrote on Facebook.

AEDP staff congratulated their boss on social media by jokingly asking for a day off to celebrate.

While we’re a little biased, this truly couldn’t go to someone who is more deserving,” AEDP staff wrote on Facebook.

Landrum, who is credited as a major force in bringing Virginia Tech’s Innovation Campus to Alexandria and Amazon’s HQ2 to Arlington, will receive the award at the Chamber’s annual Best in Business Awards on Oct. 2 at the Westin Alexandria Old Town.

Landrum, who started work at AEDP in 2005, has been the president and CEO for the last four years. She’s an inductee of the Washington Business Journal’s annual Women Who Mean Business and 40 Under 40 awards programs, was a regional fellow of the Urban Land Institute, and serves as president of the Virginia Economic Developers Association.
