PHOTOS: Tall Ship Providence and Alexandria Waterfront

ALEXANDRIA, VA – A little after midnight on July 2, hundreds of locals watched as the Woodrow Wilson Bridge opened to welcome the Tall Ship Providence to its new home on the Alexandria waterfront. The ship, which is a replica of the first naval warship commissioned by the Continental Congress in 1775, is now docked in Alexandria and will soon be offering daily tours and themed cruises.

In the meantime, it has been a popular site to photograph.  Submitted to Zebra this week, are these shots taken by Alexandrian, Hal Hardaway, on Thursday, July 24, 2019. And if you take photos around town you think our readers may enjoy, please do not hesitate to submit them anytime to [email protected] and we may publish yours as well!

For more information and to learn about the tours starting in late August, please visit the Tall Ship Providence Foundation.
