Team Mullaney

Alexandria, VA – Nothing brings a smile to our faces more than the good deeds done by the community. On Oct. 5, Dr. Kathleen Mullaney DDS partnered with Freedom Day USA to present free cleanings, x-rays, exams, oral cancer screenings, fillings, extractions and root canals to those that serve our country.

“Each year this event becomes bigger and bigger, allowing us to help more Veterans which makes me very happy as a veteran myself,” said Dr. Mullaney.

The office team welcomed many of our nation’s veterans and active military members. Participants were asked to schedule an appointment in advance and due to increased staff availability, the team was able to offer walk-in appointments into the afternoon. Dr. Mullaney’s practice provided free dental services. Dr. Daniel Winokur, an oral surgeon from Fairfax Oral Surgery in Alexandria, volunteered his services, and Dr. Antara Daru from Precision Periodontics and Implant Dentistry completed exams and extractions.

Mayor Justin Wilson was in attendance to meet with local veterans, as well as discuss with Dr. Mullaney the need for dental care for all veterans. The event was even covered by NBC/WRC Channel 4 and ABC/WJLA Channel 7! Breakfast and lunch were generously provided by local businesses in Alexandria.

In total, over $43,000 in services were donated. What a fantastic way to show thanks to our military and veterans!
