Alexandria, VA – Democratic Presidential hopeful Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) stopped in Kingstowne for a quick fundraiser for Virginia Democrats, on Sunday, Oct. 27.
Harris briefly appeared alongside Virginia House Democratic Caucus Chair Del. Charniele Herring (D-46) at the Kingstowne home of Alexandria Living Legend Ronal Butler, and spoke to a standing room only crowd about the challenges facing the country. She did not mention her Democratic competitors or call out President Donald Trump by name.
“Many of us have been saying, ‘Are we going to be ok? What’s happening with our country? Can we survive this? There have been so many of us who have been throwing things at that inanimate object called the television, going to individual or group therapy about it all,” Harris said. “Nothing that we have achieved in this country that has been about progress came without a fight. We like a good fight.”
Herring, who is running unopposed for reelection, told the audience that they could witness the first House Democratic majority in a generation.
“Because of the success of this event, tomorrow morning I’ll be wiring the House Democratic Caucus $50,000,” Herring said. “This is our time.”
