City Hosting Dec. 10 Town Hall Meeting on Underage Drinking Prevention During Holidays

The Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition of Alexandria will host a town hall discussion titled, “Healthy Youth, Healthy Families: Promoting Alcohol-Free Holidays.”

Alexandria, VA – On Dec. 10, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at the Charles Houston Recreation Center (901 Wythe St.), the Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition of Alexandria will host a town hall discussion titled, “Healthy Youth, Healthy Families: Promoting Alcohol-Free Holidays.”

This town hall discussion highlights important information about how to prevent underage drinking.

The town hall will include:

  • Local data about underage drinking
  • Information about Virginia’s social host law
  • Tools to talk to children about underage drinking (with time to practice)
  • Developmental assets and how to build them in youth

No registration is required to attend this event. Parents and guardians are invited. Dinner, childcare and interpretation will be provided.
